Don’t Forget!
Who Are You?
In his book, Breaking the Rules (Trading Performance for Intimacy with God), Fil Anderson makes a comment about arriving to a place of contentment in our lives. He uses the phrase, “to be, rather than appear to be.” You see, we all have things inside us that we battle. No one else will know, but there’s something that can cause us “to appear to be,” rather than to simply “be.” What is it with you? Wouldn’t it be a great place in life if you could just “be?” Be the one that God has made you to be? Only in Christ can we arrive at this level of comfort. It’s through our journey with Him that there is hope….to be!
Is Your Meter Running?
Yesterday while visiting downtown Rochester, I noticed the meter where we parked was “expired.” As I dropped a couple quarters in to give myself some time, I was struck with a “life application.” I was reminded that we are not “to put off until tomorrow what can be done today.” There are things in life that only gives each of us a small window of opportunity to complete….then time runs out. Sure, in some situations, we can drop an extra quarter or two in and get “some additional time.” But in most circumstances, we will run out of time (or money). If you are facing important decisions about life today, don’t put it off until tomorrow.
Today could be your day…now could be your time!
Getting Strangled?
Ever been around someone that simply “strangles” you with their words? Or perhaps the better question would be, “do you strangle others with your words?” The scripture uses the illustration of a rudder on a ship. Our tongues are so powerful that our words can “steer” our relationships like a ship can be steered by a little rudder. Which direction are you steering your relationships. Be careful, you could be taking people “out to sea” with your words!
